MATERIALS

Made slowly. Made properly. Made without compromise.

We’re not just saying it. These principles define everything we do.
Great bags start with great materials. Do they need to be beautiful? Obviously. But that’s just the start. We are rigorous about quality, functionality and longevity, because a great bag needs to do more than just look good.

Leather

Our Italian leather has a robust substance but a softer handle than many other full grain leathers, giving it a balance of structure and suppleness. The leather has a smooth, satin-like finish with a rich sheen that emphasises the quality and depth of colour.

This leather is elegant, hardworking and develops a beautiful patina with age.

 suede

Our European suede has the same substance as our leather but with the classic drape and handle of suede. This gives it a flexible, soft structure and a velvety, matte finish with real depth of colour and strokable finish.

This suede is robust, tactile and develops more personality over time.

AW26 Palette

Our palette is a study in nuanced neutrals. Familiar, wearable colours, but not as straightforward as they may initially seem.

Subtle, complex and quietly distinctive, these leathers and suedes are at times intentionally ambiguous. Colours and textures that collaborate with your wardrobe without disappearing into it.

Molasses leather

The sleekest satin true black you could ever have dreamt of

 Liquorice suede

Deeply pigmented true black with a satisfyingly soft, matte finish

 Espresso leather

A refined deep cool brown with just the right amount of sheen

 Truffle suede

A rich, neutral chocolate brown with a velvety strokable feel

Nutmeg leather

An intentionally ambiguous taupe, shifting between brown, grey and olive, which means it goes with everything

Sesame leather

A smooth, creamy beige that feels both classic and current

Gingernut suede

An elevated take on a classic tan that reads cool rather than brassy

Latte Lining

A milky mid-tone brown suede that is paired with Molasses, Liquorice, Espresso and Truffle

Shortbread Lining

A neutral sandy beige suede that is paired with Nutmeg, Sesame and Gingernut

Linings

We like uncomplicated solutions, which is why we use bonded suede linings in all our bags. Fabric linings can degrade much faster than a leather or suede outer, so we chose the longer-lasting alternative of integrating the lining into the bag’s construction.

The lining suede is thin and resilient, with a close, velvety texture.

 Hardware

The metal components of a bag can be its hardest working elements. Built for daily use, our zips and buckles combine elegant proportions, reliable functionality and refined finishes. Bynde’s silver and gold hardware is high-shine, tarnish-resistant and designed to last.

Structure

The same style of bag can behave quite differently depending on the material it’s made from. If you want a more structured, firmer-feeling piece, choose leather. If you like your bags to be softer and slouchier, choose suede.

You’ll find a structure number in each of our bag descriptions, placing it on our highly technical structure scale.

  1. 1/10 Liquid Lunch
  2. 2/10 Off duty
  3. 3/10 Slouch potato
  4. 4/10 Pleasingly casual
  5. 5/10 Holds its own
  6. 6/10 Quietly composed
  7. 7/10 Good posture
  8. 8/10 Abs of steel
  9. 9/10 Teaches deportment
