Cookie Policy
Cookies and similar technologies on our website
BYNDE LTD - Version 1.0 - Effective from 7 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones are used on our website at bynde.com and its checkout (our "Site"), what they do, who sets them, how long they last and how you can control them. It is issued by BYNDE LTD ("BYNDE", "we", "us" and "our"), forms part of our Terms & Conditions (clauses 1.8 and 23.2) and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data more generally.
Key points at a glance
This summary is provided for convenience only. The full Cookie Policy below applies and takes precedence over this summary.
- Essential cookies only, unless you say otherwise. Our Site sets a small number of cookies that it cannot work without: they remember your bag, keep checkout secure, record your cookie choices and, while our Site is password-protected, remember that you have entered the password. These are set by Shopify, the platform that powers our store.
- Analytics and marketing cookies need your consent. We set them only if you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, nothing changes about how the Site works for you.
- You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of our Site, or through your browser settings.
- We do not use device fingerprinting, and we do not sell the data that cookies collect.
- Third parties set cookies only with your consent. Section 6 lists the advertising and analytics providers we work with and links to their privacy notices.
- Our marketing emails contain a tracking pixel. Section 7 explains how to prevent it loading.
- Questions about cookies can be sent to hello@bynde.com.

1. About this policy and who we are
1.1 Who we are. We are BYNDE LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16946451. Our registered office is at 1 Garthorp Road, Manchester, England, M23 0AT, and our Studio and correspondence address is Unit 3 Hammond Trade Centre, Hammond Avenue, Stockport, SK4 1PQ. We are the controller of any personal data collected through the cookies described in this policy, except where we say that a third party sets a cookie for its own purposes.
1.2 The law. The use of cookies and similar technologies in the United Kingdom is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 ("PECR"), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and, where personal data is involved, by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. PECR requires us to tell you clearly what we store on or read from your device and why, and to obtain your consent before doing so unless a legal exception applies. The main exception is for technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, such as keeping items in your bag while you shop.
1.3 Our platform. Our Site is built on Shopify. Most of the cookies you will encounter on our Site are set by Shopify on our behalf so that the store works; Shopify also operates the cookie banner and records your choices. Shopify publishes its own description of the cookies it places on merchants' stores in the Shopify Cookie Policy, and we have used it in preparing section 5.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
2.1 Cookies. A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your computer, phone or tablet. When you return to the site, or move from page to page, your browser sends the cookie back, which allows the site to recognise your device and remember things such as what is in your bag or whether you are logged in. Cookies cannot run programs, install software or read other files on your device.
2.2 First-party and third-party cookies. A first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting: on our Site, that means cookies set on our own domain by Shopify on our behalf. A third-party cookie is set by a different organisation whose content or code is present on the page, such as an advertising network or a video platform, and can be read by that organisation when you visit other websites that use its services.
2.3 Session and persistent cookies. A session cookie lasts only until you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays on your device until it reaches its expiry date or you delete it. The tables in sections 5 and 6 show the lifetime of each cookie.
2.4 Similar technologies. The law applies to any technology that stores information on your device or reads information from it, not only to cookies. On our Site this includes: (a) local storage and session storage, which are areas of your browser in which a website can save small amounts of data; (b) pixels, tags and web beacons, which are tiny images or snippets of code that report to us or a third party when a page or email has been opened or an action taken; and (c) software development kits embedded in apps, such as Shopify's Shop app if you use it. Section 7 explains how we use these. We do not use device fingerprinting, which is the practice of identifying a device from the combination of its technical characteristics without storing anything on it.
3. The categories of cookies we use
3.1 We group the cookies and similar technologies on our Site into the following categories. The category determines whether we need your consent.
| Category | What it does | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the Site work and keeps it secure: remembering the items in your bag and the country you are shopping in, running checkout, recognising you when you log in, protecting forms against spam and abuse, recording your cookie choices, and remembering that you have entered the password while our Site is in private mode. Without these cookies you could not shop with us. | Not required. These cookies are exempt from the consent requirement because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for. You can block them in your browser, but the Site will not then work properly. |
| Analytics and performance | Tells us how our Site is used: how many people visit, which pages and products they look at, where they came from, how they move through the Site and whether they complete a purchase. We use this to understand what our customers are interested in and to improve the Site. The reports we look at are aggregated and do not identify you. | Required. Set only if you accept analytics cookies in our banner. |
| Marketing and advertising | Attributes visits and Orders to our marketing campaigns, measures whether our advertising on other websites and social media is effective, and allows those platforms to show you our advertisements based on your visit to our Site. | Required. Set only if you accept marketing cookies in our banner. |
| Functional and preference | Remembers choices you make that are not essential to shopping, such as whether you have closed a notice or which products you viewed recently, so that we can adapt the Site to your preferences. | We do not currently set any non-essential preference cookies; the country and currency cookies that affect prices and delivery are strictly necessary and are listed as such in section 5. If we add functional cookies in future they will be set only with your consent, or under the exception in PECR for technologies that adapt the appearance or function of a service to your preferences, in which case we will tell you and give you a way to object. |
3.2 A note on analytics. Since 5 February 2026, UK law has allowed a website to set some first-party cookies for statistical purposes without consent, provided visitors are clearly told about them, the data is used only to improve the service and is not shared for any other purpose, and visitors are given a simple, free way to object. We have chosen not to rely on that exception for the time being: analytics cookies on our Site are set only if you accept them. If we change this approach we will update this policy and provide the required opt-out.
4. Your choices: the cookie banner, consent and changing your mind
4.1 The cookie banner. When you first visit our Site from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, a banner explains that we use cookies and asks whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. You can accept them all, decline them all, or open the preferences panel and choose category by category. Until you have made a choice, we set only strictly necessary cookies. Continuing to browse without choosing is not treated as consent.
4.2 What happens if you decline. Declining non-essential cookies has no effect on your ability to browse, shop or check out. You may see our advertisements on other sites less often or find them less relevant, and our statistics about how the Site is used will not include your visit.
4.3 How your choice is remembered. Your choice is stored in the _tracking_consent cookie for one year, so that we do not ask you again on each visit and so that non-essential cookies stay off if you declined them. If you clear your cookies, delete that cookie or use a different browser or device, the banner will appear again.
4.4 Changing your mind. You can review or change your choices at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the footer of our Site, which reopens the preferences panel. Withdrawing your consent stops us from collecting further data through the cookies concerned. Cookies that have already been placed on your device may remain until they expire or you delete them, which you can do using your browser settings (section 8); the data already collected under your earlier consent will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
4.5 Tools we install. Where a third-party analytics or advertising tool is integrated with Shopify's customer privacy controls, it waits for your consent before setting any cookie. Where a tool cannot be integrated in that way, we configure it to load only after you have consented, or we do not use it.
4.6 Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, our platform treats it as an opt-out from the sharing of your data for advertising purposes. Because there is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to the older "Do Not Track" browser setting, our Site does not respond to it; please use the cookie banner instead.
4.7 Visitors outside the UK and EEA. If you visit our Site from a country where the law does not require prior consent, the banner may not appear or may allow you to opt out rather than opt in. You can still control cookies through your browser at any time, and you can contact us if you would like your data deleted.
5. Cookies set by our platform, Shopify

5.2 Security on our forms. Shopify protects our contact, login, account and password-recovery forms against spam and abuse using Google reCAPTCHA, which distinguishes people from automated bots. When you use one of those forms Google may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie on its own domain for up to 6 months. This is strictly necessary for the security of the Site and does not require consent; Google's use of the data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
5.3 Analytics cookies. Shopify sets the following cookies so that we can see how our Site is used in Shopify's analytics reports. They are set only if you accept analytics cookies in our banner.

|---|---|---|
_shopify_marketing |

5.5 Shop Pay. If you choose to check out with Shop Pay, or to log in with Shop, part of the process takes place on Shopify's own domain, shop.app, where Shopify sets the cookies below. Shopify is the controller of the data collected through its Shop services, as explained in Shopify's Privacy Policy. You are not required to use Shop Pay; you can check out as a guest with a card or another payment method instead.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
_shop_app_essential |
Essential information for Shop Pay and Shop to function, including your session. | 1 year |
privacy_signal |

6. Third-party cookies and tools
6.1 The tools we use. With your consent, we use the tools listed below. Each is provided by a third party which sets its own cookies, on our domain or on its own, and which uses the data it collects in accordance with its own privacy notice, linked in the table. The cookie names and lifetimes shown are those the providers publish and may change; we review this list whenever we add or remove a tool.

Google Privacy Policy |
6.2 How third parties use the data. Analytics providers act on our instructions and report to us in aggregate. Advertising platforms use the data collected by their pixels for their own purposes as well as ours, including to build a profile of your interests across the websites and apps that use their services, and may combine it with information they already hold about you if you have an account with them. We do not control that processing. Each platform offers its own controls: you can adjust your advertising preferences in your Google, Meta, Pinterest and TikTok account settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once through the industry schemes described in section 8.4.
6.3 Advertising audiences. Our Privacy Policy (clause 6.6) explains that, with your consent, we may share a securely hashed version of your email address with an advertising platform so that it can show our advertisements to you or to people with similar interests. That sharing does not use cookies, but the platform may link it to the cookies described in this section.
7. Other technologies: local storage, pixels, embedded content and email tracking
7.1 Local storage and session storage. Our theme uses your browser's local storage and session storage to remember small amounts of information that make the Site work smoothly, such as the products you have viewed recently, whether you have closed an announcement, and the state of the bag drawer. This information stays on your device, is not sent to third parties and is treated as strictly necessary. It is cleared when you clear your browser's site data.
7.2 Shopify web pixels. Shopify runs the analytics and marketing pixels on our Site in a protected environment that receives only the events needed for the purpose concerned (such as "product viewed" or "checkout completed") and that respects the choices you make in our cookie banner.
7.3 Pixels on our Site. The advertising and analytics tools in section 6 use pixels and tags as well as cookies. They are loaded only after you have consented to the relevant category.
7.4 Embedded content. Where we embed content hosted by a third party, such as a video or a social media post, the third party may set cookies or collect data when the content loads or when you interact with it. Our YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedding, which sets no cookies until you press play; any other embedded content is loaded only after you have consented to marketing cookies. Our fonts are served from our own Site and from Shopify's content delivery network and do not set cookies.
7.5 Tracking in our emails. Our marketing emails, which are sent through Klaviyo and Shopify Email, include a small, invisible image and tracked links. When the image loads, our email platform records that the email was opened, the time and the type of device; when you click a tracked link, it records the click. We use this to understand which content our customers value and to stop emailing people who never open our messages. You can prevent open tracking by setting your email app not to load images automatically, and you can avoid click tracking by typing our web address into your browser instead of clicking a link. Unsubscribing stops both. Service emails about your Order, Commission or account do not contain marketing tracking.
8. Managing cookies in your browser and on your device
8.1 Browser settings. All modern browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete some or all of them, block cookies from particular sites, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies. The controls are usually found under "Settings", "Preferences" or "Options", in a section called "Privacy" or "Privacy and security":
- Google Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies, and Settings › Privacy and security › Site settings › Cookies and site data.
- Apple Safari (Mac): Safari › Settings › Privacy. Safari (iPhone and iPad): the Settings app › Apps › Safari › Privacy & Security.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions › Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Samsung Internet and other mobile browsers: the browser's own Settings › Privacy menu.
Detailed, up-to-date instructions for each browser, and general information about cookies, are available at www.allaboutcookies.org.
8.2 Consequences of blocking cookies. If you block all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, you will not be able to keep items in your bag, log in to an account or complete checkout. Blocking third-party cookies alone will not affect shopping on our Site. If you delete cookies, your cookie choices will be forgotten and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
8.3 Mobile devices and apps. Advertising in apps and on some mobile browsers is controlled by your device's advertising identifier rather than by cookies. You can limit ad tracking in the privacy settings of iOS and Android.
8.4 Opting out of interest-based advertising. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once through the industry schemes run by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (www.youronlinechoices.com) and the Network Advertising Initiative (www.networkadvertising.org). Google offers a browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from collecting data (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and lets you manage advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com. These opt-outs generally rely on setting a cookie, so they will be lost if you clear your cookies.
9. Cookies and your personal data
9.1 Personal data collected through cookies. Some of the information collected through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, cookie identifiers and the pages you view, is personal data because it can be linked to you or your device. We use it for the purposes described in section 5 of our Privacy Policy: running and securing the Site, measuring how it is used and, with your consent, advertising.
9.2 Lawful basis. For strictly necessary cookies, our lawful basis for any personal data processing is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning Site and, where you are placing an Order, the performance of our contract with you. For analytics and marketing cookies, our lawful basis is your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
9.3 Retention. Cookies remain on your device for the periods shown in sections 5 and 6 unless you delete them earlier. The analytics reports we retain are aggregated and do not identify you. Data held by advertising platforms is retained according to their own policies.
9.4 Your rights. You have the rights described in section 12 of our Privacy Policy in relation to any personal data collected through cookies, including the right to object and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Changes to this Cookie Policy
10.1 We review this Cookie Policy at least once a year and whenever we add, remove or change a tool on our Site. The version number and effective date at the top show when it was last updated. If we start to use cookies for a new purpose that requires your consent, we will ask for it through the banner before doing so. Earlier versions are available on request.
11. How to contact us
11.1 If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or about the cookies on our Site, please contact us at hello@bynde.com or write to Data Protection, BYNDE LTD, Unit 3 Hammond Trade Centre, Hammond Avenue, Stockport, SK4 1PQ. Section 17 of our Privacy Policy explains how to complain to us and to the Information Commissioner's Office.
